IDF says 18 Israeli soldiers injured after drone attack in Golan Heights

Gaza, July 1 (UNI) Eighteen Israeli soldiers were injured in a drone attack in the Golan Heights in the north of the country, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.

“As a result of an explosive UAV attack in the northern Golan Heights earlier today, an IDF soldier was severely injured and 17 soldiers were lightly injured,” the IDF said on Telegram on Sunday.

The IDF did not specify who launched the combat drone or where it came from.

The situation on the Israeli-Lebanese border worsened after the start of Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip in October 2023. The IDF and Lebanese Hezbollah fighters fire at each other’s positions in areas along the border on a daily basis. The Lebanese Foreign Ministry said that around 100,000 people had to leave their homes in border areas, while the Israeli Foreign Ministry said that 80,000 Israelis had to do the same.
