IMD predicts heavy rainfall over Northwest, Central & East India

New Delhi, July 31 (UNI) Northwest, Central and East India are expected to witness widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls during the next 3-4 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday.

The weather department also predicted that isolated heavy to very rainfall will continue along the west coast during the next 5 days.

According to IMD, Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very likely over Madhya Maharashtra, East Madhya Pradesh, Konkan & Goa, Gujarat Region till 3rd August, and over Coastal Karnataka and Mizoram today.

“Very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Madhya Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch, Tamil Nadu, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya and Manipur from 31st July to 3rd August, the IMD said.

Parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and northeast Rajasthan to witness isolated very heavy rainfall for the next three days, it added.
