In second phase of Bhopal Metro, permanent shops will be demolished

  • 6 days more time given to demolish 18 shops

6 days more time has been given to demolish 18 permanent shops which are coming in the way of the second phase of Metro.

SDM Ashutosh Sharma visited the spot on Wednesday and inspected and talked to the shopkeepers. In case the shops are not removed, the administration will take strict action. City Circle SDM Sharma said he has inspected Azad Nagar along with Metro and Municipal Corporation officials. The shopkeepers have been given time till next Tuesday, i.e., 29 October. They have to remove their constructions in this period.

Full focus on removing encroachment: The second phase of Metro is 8.77 km from Subhash Nagar Depot to Karond. This work will also be done in two parts. A total of 1540 crore rupees will be spent on both. Soil testing, design and other works have been done. Now the focus is on removing encroachment. So, civil works can start soon. In September some encroachments were removed in Pul Bogda and Azad Nagar, but 10 days time was given to remove permanent shops.
