Jeddah/New Delhi, Apr 22 (UNI) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aircraft entered Saudi airspace, in a special gesture, F15s of the Royal Saudi Air Force escorted the PM’s plane as it prepared to land in Jeddah today, the MEA said.
Prime Minister Modi is on a two-day visit to Jeddah, at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman.
Ahead of his departure, PM Modi said in a post on X, that India values its historic relations with Saudi Arabia.
“Bilateral ties have gained significant momentum in the last decade. I look forward to participating in the 2nd Meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council. I will also be interacting with the Indian community there.”
This is his third visit to Saudi Arabia over the past decade and his first to the historic city of Jeddah.
