Independence Day celebrations will be held with pomp at Lal Parade Ground today

  • Security of guests and spectators will be monitored by CCTV cameras, seating arrangements for about two thousand people made

The 77th anniversary of Indian independence will be celebrated with joy and pomp today on August 15 in Madhya Pradesh, including the capital. The state-level main function will be held in Bhopal today at Lal Parade Ground under the chief hospitality of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The main attraction of the program will be the police parade. The administration has made arrangements for seating of about 2 thousand spectators at Lal Parade Ground. The police administration has made adequate security arrangements for the guests and spectators at the ground. The entire premises will be monitored by CCTV cameras.

Earlier on Tuesday, the full dress parade and final rehearsal of the Independence Day celebrations took place here at Lal Parade Ground in the presence of Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena. Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena, Additional Director General of Police Sajid Farid Shapoo, Police Commissioner Bhopal Harinarayanchari Mishra, Deputy Commissioner Bhopal Kiran Gupta and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harendra Narayan along with other officials took stock of the arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations. During the final rehearsal of the full dress parade, Assistant Sub Inspector of 7th Battalion Heera Lal Yadav played the role of the chief guest symbolically and after the flag hoisting, national anthem and salute to the parade, he inspected and read out the message. After that, the parade was concluded and the program was concluded.

69 officers and employees will be honored: After reading out the message symbolically, 69 officers and employees who received the President’s medal also practiced receiving the medal decoration from the chief guest. In the end, the parade commander and the platoon commanders of all the parties involved in the parade also practiced introducing the chief guest. During the rehearsal, the movement of citizens in the stadium and security arrangements, including traffic, parking and all other arrangements of the stadium were checked.

17 contingents including police band took part in the practice parade

The final practice parade was led by Assistant Police Commissioner of Indian Police Service, Bhopal, Mayur Khandelwal. Assistant Commander Hawkforce Balaghat Sonu Kurmi played the role of assistant parade commander. A total of 17 contingents including a police band took part in the joint practice parade. These included Uttar Pradesh Police Force, Special Armed Force Northern Zone, Special Armed Force of Women, Joint Contingent of District Force and Railways, Special Armed Force Southern Zone, STF, District Police Force, Jail Department Women, Government Railway Police, City Army Home Guard etc.
