India bowls out Bangladesh for 149, secures handy lead

Chennai, Sep 20 (UNI) Pacer Jasprit Bumrah claimed four wickets, while fellow seamers Mohd Siraj and Akash Deep chipped in with two wickets a piece as Bangladesh were bowled out for 149 runs in 47.1 overs in their first innings against India on the second day of the first cricket test here on Friday.

Left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja also chipped in with two wickets in two overs to hasten the end of the visitors as India secured a handy lead.

Earlier, India, resuming at 339 for six, added 37 runs before being all out for 376 in 91.2 overs.

In reply, Bangladesh lost wickets in clusters on either side of the 51 run stand for the sixth wicket in 15.3 overs between the experienced Shakib Al Hasan (32, 64 balls) and wicket keeper/batsman Litton Das (22, 42 balls) and were bowled out cheaply.

India enjoying the luxury of 227 run lead, did not enforce the follow on and decided to bat for the second time.
