New Delhi/Chennai, Sep 9 (UNI) India will be launching a G-20 Satellite mission for environment and climate observation and invited all the G20 countries to join this initiative.
This was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address at the G20 meeting in New Delhi on Saturday, while referring to the success of India’s third Lunar Mission Chandrayaan-3, which made a successful soft landing on the south polar region of the moon on August 23.
The climate and weather data obtained from this will be shared with all the countries, especially the countries of the Global South, he said.
India invites all G-20 countries to join this initiative, Mr Modi said.
“You are all familiar with the success of India’s Moon Mission, Chandrayaan.
The data obtained from it will be beneficial for all of humanity”, he added.
“With the same spirit, India is proposing the launch of the ‘G20 Satellite Mission for Environment and Climate Observation. The climate and weather data obtained from this will be shared with all the countries, especially the countries of the Global South. India invites all G-20 countries to join this initiative”, Mr Modi said.
