Infiltration bid foiled in Kashmir’s Uri, 2 killed

Srinagar, Nov 15 (UNI) Two militants were killed on Wednesday as security forces foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Baramulla district, Army said.

They said the bid was foiled by joint forces of Army and Police in the Uri sector.

“In a Joint Operation launched by #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice, an infiltration bid has been foiled today by alert troops along #LOC in Uri Sector, #Baramulla. Two Terrorists have been eliminated along with the recovery of 02xAK Rifles, 02xPistols, 04xHand Grenades & other war-like stores,” Army’s Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said in a post on X.

The Army said the operation is in progress.

Sources said the militants tried to take advantage of poor visibility and bad weather which was foiled by the forces.

Last week, BSF Director General Nitin Agrawal said that there are always attempts from across to push in more militants before the onset of winter and the closure of tracks due to heavy snowfall.
