Jerusalem, Dec 25 (UNI) Col. Ayub Kayouf of the Israel Defense Forces was injured on Wednesday when an explosion hit an armored vehicle on the West Bank, the IDF said.
The vehicle was hit during a counterterrorism operation near the city of Tulkarem, the Israeli military said, adding that the commanding officer of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brig. Gen. Yaki Dolf, was also in the vehicle at the time of the explosion.
“The Commander of the Menashe Regional Brigade [Kayouf] was moderately injured and was evacuated to receive medical treatment. His family has been notified. The rest of the passengers in the vehicle did not get injured,” the IDF said on Telegram.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continue to conduct raids in the West Bank to prevent terrorist attempts. Since October 2023, the Israeli military has detained more than 6,000 suspects in terrorist activities. It is believed that about 2,300 of the detainees have ties to the Palestinian movement Hamas.
