New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI) Japan has strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attacks, with Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya stressing that Japan is firmly committed to combatting terrorism in cooperation with India and the international community.
Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba sent a message of condolences to Prime Minister Modi, in which he expressed shock and anger at the terror attack in which 28 people were killed.
“Dear H.E. Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
“I cannot help but feel great shock and anger regarding the large number of casualties caused by the terrorist attack carried out yesterday in Kashmir.
“I resolutely condemn such a vicious attack. On behalf of the Japanese government and people, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to those who lost their lives and their bereaved families, and express my heartfelt sympathy to those who were injured.
“I express my heartfelt solidarity to the people of India in the process of overcoming this difficult time.
“Terrorism cannot be justified for any reason. Japan strongly condemns all forms of terrorism. Japan is firmly committed to com-batting terrorism in cooperation with India and the international community.”
Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, in a message of condolences to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, said that terrorism cannot be justified for any reason:
“I extend my sincere condolences to those who lost their lives and their bereaved families in the terrorist attack carried out in Kashmir, on April 22nd. I would also like to express my deepest sympathy to those who were injured in the attack.
“Terrorism cannot be justified for any reason. Japan strongly condemns all forms of terrorism. Japan is firmly committed to combatting terrorism in cooperation with India and the international community.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the friendly people of India.”
