This is the second major robbery incident within a week. Earlier, a liquor company office located in Rachna Nagar was robbed of Rs 11 lakh, in which three people have been arrested.

According to information, Manoj Chauhan (51) is originally from Baktara in district Raisen. Currently, he lives in Rachna Nagar and runs a jewellery shop by the name of SS Jewellers at Krishna Arcade Square in Bagh Sevaniya. On Tuesday night around 10 o’clock, Manoj was preparing to close the shop, when two youths wearing helmets entered the shop.

As soon as they reached inside, one of the youths took Manoj’s mobile and kept it in his pocket and the other pointed a gun at him. After that, the miscreant took Rs 35,000 in cash and boxes of gold and silver jewellery kept in the counter. At that time his safe was open and the key was hanging, so the miscreants also took the jewellery kept inside the safe and put it in their bag. This entire incident was carried out within 7 minutes.

After that the miscreants came out of the shop and fled towards BHEL Sangam Colony on a black bike. The miscreants disappeared before anyone could raise an alarm. During the incident, the miscreants had pointed a gun at the shopkeeper. Seeing the shine of the gun, the shopkeeper said that it looked fake, then the miscreant tried to take out a knife. Manoj’s finger got hurt while trying to catch it, so he could not resist much.

As soon as the miscreants left, he raised an alarm, but by then both had disappeared. There is a medicine shop next to the jeweler’s shop, where a lot of people are present. If the people standing outside would have known about the crime happening inside the shop, then both could have been caught on the spot. The crime happened after recce.
