Bhopal: The incidents of theft and looting at jeweller’s shops in the capital are not stopping. The accused of the robbery in Baghsewania area could not be traced yet when the criminals again attacked a jeweller’s shop in Ayodhya Nagar. 7 criminals who arrived in a Scorpio broke the locks of the channel gate and broke the glass by lifting the shutter. After that they ran away with jewellery worth lakhs of rupees. Police of Bhopal city and rural police stations tried to stop the criminals by putting a stopper, but did not succeed. This incident which happened within just 15 minutes has been captured in the CCTV camera installed in the shop.
According to the information, Vikas Jain (48) lives in D-Sector Ayodhya Nagar. He runs a jeweller’s shop at home. About a week ago, Vikas had gone to a pilgrimage site with his family, from where he returned on Tuesday. He opened the shop on Wednesday and the shop was closed on Thursday due to Independence Day. Vikas told that around 2 o’clock on Thursday-Friday night, the tenant living on the ground floor called and told that uncle, there is a sound of banging coming from the shop.
When he came out of the room and made noise, the miscreants threw stones at him and fled in a Scorpio parked at some distance. There were a total of 7 people in the Scorpio. After the miscreants fled, Vikas reached Ayodhya Nagar police station located at a short distance and informed about the incident. When the police team reached the spot, it was found that the miscreants had raised the shutter from the middle with a crowbar after breaking the four locks of the channel gate. After that they entered inside and broke the glass door. Four-five miscreants had entered inside the shop. They checked the drawers and collected silver and gold jewellery.
Some miscreants had stuffed the jewellery inside their shirts. After that, all the miscreants ran outside on hearing a sound from the first floor. Ayodhya Nagar police says that the thieves have stolen one to one and a half kilograms of silver and some gold ornaments which had come for repairs.
Meanwhile, shopkeeper Vikas Jain said that there is a possibility of theft of goods worth about three lakh rupees, but the real price will be revealed after checking the stock kept in the shop. Due to the investigation of the FSL team after the incident, he did not enter the shop. The miscreants escaped by breaking the stopper. As soon as the incident came to light, the police broadcast the number of the Scorpio on the wireless set and sent a message to catch it. After that, the police of the whole city became alert, but the miscreants broke the stopper in Piplani area and escaped towards the countryside.
Police sources said that such crimes are committed by a particular community. This community has camps in the countryside of Bhopal and neighboring districts. The police is investigating the records of the criminals involved in the old crimes. Apart from this, the footage of CCTV cameras installed on the route of the criminals is being examined.
