J&K Chief Secy reviews facilities for Amarnath pilgrims

Srinagar, June 30 (UNI) J&K Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Sunday visited Amarnath Holy Cave and took stock of facilities being provided to pilgrims.

The Chief Secretary reviewed the facilities at the Holy Cave and the Tatkal Registration counters at Pahalgam Convention Centre and Nunwan Base Camp, a statement said.

At Nunwan Base Camp, the Chief Secretary took a round of the camp and reviewed arrangements along with the Deputy Commissioner and the Camp Director.

Dulloo assessed all the facilities being extended to yatris especially medicare, sanitation, drinking water, langar facilities, accommodation and transportation.

The 52-day-long Amarnath Yatra commenced from June 29 from the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal axis and will culminate on August 19.

The Chief Secretary was accompanied by Nodal Officer Pahalgam Axis, Bhupinder Kumar; Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sujit Kumar; Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid; Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag, G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy; Director Health Mushtaq Ahmad Rather; Camp Director Nunwan, Vikas Gupta; Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag among others.
