Srinagar, Sep 16 ( UNI) A gun battle erupted close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday, police said.
The gunfight erupted even as massive anti-militancy operations to flush out militants behind the killing of three officers in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district resumed on Saturday.
The fresh encounter erupted at Hathlanga Uri when a group of suspected infiltrators was intercepted by joint forces.
Officials said the army and police are on job.
“Encounter has started between #militants and Army & Baramulla Police in forward area of #Uri, Hathlanga in #Baramulla district. Further details shall follow,” the police said on X.
