Srinagar, Apr 12 (UNI) Security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and other war-like stores during a search operation in the woods of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday.
Based on specific Information about the presence of a terrorist hideout in the general area of Gangbug-Sogam forest today, a joint operation was launched by Border Security Force (BSF) Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, a BSF statement said.
During the search operation, a terrorist hideout containing large quantity of war-like stores were recovered, they said.
“It is reliably learnt that the terrorists were planning to use these war-like stores to carry out terrorist activities during the fourth coming parliamentary elections in Kupwara and Lolab areas”, the statement read.
This operation has delivered a major blow to the nefarious designs of PoJK based terrorist groups who have always aspired to disturb the peace and tranquility in Kashmir Valley, the statement concluded.
