New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) Actor John Abraham recently met Indian shooter Manu Bhaker, who made history at the Paris Olympics 2024 by winning two bronze medals. Bhaker’s achievements have garnered widespread recognition, including congratulations from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various Bollywood celebrities.
Abraham, who is preparing for the release of his film ‘Vedaa’, shared a photo on Instagram with Bhaker, in which she is seen holding one of her bronze medals while Abraham holds the other. He expressed his admiration and respect for Bhaker, writing, “Had the pleasure of meeting @bhakermanu and her lovely family. She has made India proud!!! Respect.”
Bhaker became the first Indian athlete to win two Olympic medals in a single edition post-independence, securing bronze in both the women’s 10m Air Pistol and the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh. Her victories are particularly historic as she is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised Bhaker’s achievements on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Our shooters continue to make us proud! Congratulations to @realmanubhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the #Olympics. Both of them have shown great skills and teamwork. India is incredibly delighted.” Modi further acknowledged Bhaker’s consistency, adding, “For Manu, this is her second consecutive Olympic medal, showcasing her consistent excellence and dedication. #Cheer4Bharat.”
On the professional front, John Abraham is gearing up for the release of his action drama ‘Vedaa’, directed by Nikkhil Advani. The film, which also stars Sharvari Wagh, Abhishek Banerjee, and Tamannaah Bhatia, is set to hit theatres on August 15, coinciding with the Independence Day holiday.
