Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism and Communication University will organize a grand Foundation Day celebration for the first time in its history on 16 August. Asia’s first and India’s largest media university was established on 16 August 1990.
University Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) KG Suresh said that after being transferred to the new grand campus Makhanpuram Bishankhedi, the university is moving forward on the path of progress by innovating every day. He said that at this historic time it is necessary to tell the university’s students, teachers, officers and employees about its glorious history. Prof. Suresh said that the first Foundation Day lecture will be given by renowned cultural worker, Member Secretary of Indira Gandhi National Art, Culture Ministry, Government of India, New Delhi and the first Registrar of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Sachchidanand Joshi. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Joshi has twice been the Vice Chancellor of Raipur-based Kushabhau Thackeray Journalism and Mass Communication University.
He will deliver his lecture on the topic of Developed India 2047 and the role of journalism in the grand Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Auditorium of MCU. A cultural program will also be organized on this occasion. Vice Chancellor Prof. Suresh said that on this historic and important occasion, the auditorium of the Computer Application Department will be named after the famous mathematician Srinivas Ramanujan. It is worth noting that for the first time, Foundation Day has also been included in the academic calendar of this academic session.
