New Delhi, Aug 31 (UNI) Justice (retired) Jayant Nath on Thursday took charge as the acting chairman of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC).
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal assured full support to Nath on behalf of his government. Kejriwal tweeted, “I wholeheartedly welcome Justice (retired) Jayant Nath as the new Chairman of DERC. Electricity is a very important sector, and we are making our best efforts to bring improvements. I assure full support from my government.”
Delhi Power Minister Atishi said, “With the experience of retired Justice Jayant Nath, our government is ready to enhance and improve Delhi’s electricity department.”
It is to be noted that the term of former DERC Chairman retired Justice Shabihul Hussain ended on January 9. The position was vacant since then. After a gap of around eight months, retired Justice Jayant Nath has taken charge, Delhi Power Minister’s office communiqué said.
