Bengaluru, July 16 (UN) The Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution congratulating the Indian cricket team and former head coach Rahul Dravid for their historic win in the T20 World Cup.
The resolution was read out by Assembly Speaker UT Khader, who praised the team for their outstanding achievement.
The India cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma and guided by Dravid, defeated South Africa by 7 runs in the final to end their 11-year wait for an ICC trophy. Dravid, a legendary cricketer and Karnataka’s proud son, was instrumental in the team’s success.
The resolution congratulated Dravid and Team India for their remarkable achievement, which has brought joy and pride to the nation. Khader said, “On behalf of the people of Karnataka, we congratulate Team India, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid, for winning the World Cup for the country.”
The resolution was moved by BJP MLA and former minister S Suresh Kumar, who urged the government to recognise Dravid’s achievement and congratulate the team for their triumph. The resolution was unanimously passed by the Assembly, reflecting the state’s pride and admiration for Dravid and Team India’s achievement.
