Kerala Minister inaugurates Delegate Cell by handing over delegate kits to film stars

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 11 (UNI) Kerala Minister for Cultural Affairs Saji Cheriyan has inaugurated the Delegate Cell by handing over delegate kits to film stars Sharafudeen and Mahima Nambiar at Vazhuthacaud Tagore Theatre.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said, “Unifying people is the ultimate goal of all film festivals, and IFFK serves as the perfect example of it.

Diversity and novelty are the salient features of IFFK, which makes us one of the best in Asia, the minister added.

The prominence given to the works of female directors and the tribute for the yesteryear actresses signify the commitment and inclusive approach of IFFK.

The 29th edition of the festival will officially kickstart once the torch-bearing march paying respects to the legends of Malayalam cinema is flagged off on December 12, he said.

The inauguration event was presided over by Prem Kumar, Chairman of Kerala Chalachitra Academy, and Curator Golda Sellam introduced the festival.

The function was attended by C. Ajoy, Secretary of Kerala Chalachitra Academy; Kukku Parameshwaran, Member of Kerala Chalachitra Academy; M. Vijayakumar, Reception Committee Chairman; K. K G Mohankumar, Delegate Committee Chairman, Madhupal, Chairman of Cultural Workers Welfare Fund Board. H. Shaji, Deputy Director of IFFK, delivered the vote of thanks.
