For the first time in independent India’s history, KVIC product sales exceeded Rs. 1.55 lakh crore in 2023-24, up from Rs. 1.34 lakh crore in 2022-23, he said.

“The inspiration of revered Bapu, the guarantee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the tireless efforts of artisans in remote villages have led to this historic achievement,” said KVIC Chairman Kumar.

“‘Modi’s ‘Brand Shakti’ has increased people’s confidence in Khadi products, making Khadi a ‘new status symbol’ of fashion for the youth,” he said.

Production of Khadi and village industry products reached Rs. 1,08,297.68 crore in 2023-24, a 314.79% jump from Rs. 26,109.08 crore in 2013-14. Sales figures have also seen unprecedented growth, with an increase from Rs. 31,154.20 crore in 2013-14 to Rs. 1,55,673.12 crore in 2023-24.

These achievements are attributed to Prime Minister Modi’s initiatives like ‘Make in India,’ ‘Vocal for Local,’ and the promotion of Swadeshi products.

“The trust of the people in ‘Make in India’ and ‘Swadeshi products’ is evident in these figures,” added Manoj Kumar.
