Kharge attacks PM for his election speeches

New Delhi, July 1 (UNI) Hitting out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his speeches during the recently-held general elections, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Rajya Sabha and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday said that the election outcome has demolished the arrogance of the prime minister.

Participating in the debate on Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address, Kharge cornered PM Modi for not visiting strife-torn Manipur.

He also accused Modi of dividing the society with his speeches and criticized him for linking Congress manifesto with a particular religion during the general election.

The Congress president also brought up the issue of alleged NEET paper leak and irregularities associated with the key examination and said that it has pushed the future of the country’s youth into uncertainty.

He also alleged that the government at the Centre has been misusing investigating agencies such as CBI and ED, and targeting Opposition leaders.

Kharge alleged that the country’s education system has been taken over by those affiliated with the saffron party’s ideology.

The LoP also demanded that the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, BR Ambedkar and other leaders be restored to their original spots in the Parliament complex.
