King Charles and Queen Camilla unveil this year’s Charistmas card

London, Dec 9 (UNI) King Charles and Queen Camilla have shared a photograph of themselves taken in the garden of Buckingham Palace for their official Christmas card for 2024.

The photograph taken in April by Millie Pilkington shows the smiling couple standing side-by-side on what appears to be a sunny day. The greeting inside reads “Wishing you a very happy Christmas and New Year”, according to a BBC report.

The picture showcases the King, dressed in a grey suit and blue tie with his right hand casually tucked into his pocket, standing on the left, while the Queen dons a striking blue wool crepe dress.

This is the third Christmas card released by the royal couple since Charles ascended the throne. The photo holds personal significance, marking the King’s return to public life following his cancer diagnosis and treatment earlier in the year.

A Palace spokesperson noted that the card reflects a moment of renewal and hope as life began to return to normal for the monarch and his family.

The 2024 photograph is also more informal in contrast to last year’s card. Last year’s picture was captured by Hugo Burnand and showed the royal couple in the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace following the coronation regalia.

Continuing a royal tradition, the King and Queen will personally sign around 2,700 cards this year, to be sent to family, friends, world leaders and charitable organisations worldwide.
