Kodo and Kutki will be procured at MSP

  • CM Dr. Yadav meets Union Minister Chouhan

Bhopal: Dr. Mohan Yadav paid a courtesy visit to Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Krishi Bhawan in Delhi and had a detailed discussion with him on various issues of the state related to his ministries.

Responding to Prime Minister Modi’s initiative to encourage millets, Dr. Yadav, urged to give Minimum Support Price to Kodo and Kutki produced in Madhya Pradesh so that the tribal farmers of the state can get special benefits. He requested to give Minimum Support Price of Rs 4290 for Kodo and Kutki at par with Ragi, which the Union Agriculture Minister readily accepted.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted the boost in production of summer moong in the state, which has led to farmers not receiving the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that farmers will benefit more by getting support from the Central Government for installing drip irrigation and sprinkler systems at the outlets of pressurized pipes. In this regard, Dr. Yadav requested the Union Minister to increase the targeted area of ??the state under drip irrigation and sprinkler system.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh has not been included under the Centre’s PM-Janman Yojana. Bhariya, a special backward tribe residing here, has been deprived of the benefits of PM-Janman Yojana. Dr. Yadav has urged that Chhindwara district be included under the PM-Janman Yojana for the development of this tribe so that they have easy access to housing and road facilities. Union Minister Chouhan assured to take appropriate action in this matter.
