Haveri, June 28 (UNI) A tragic accident at Gundenahalli Cross in Byadagi Taluk claimed the lives of 13 people and left four injured early Friday morning, according to police reports.
The incident occurred around 3:45 AM when their van allegedly collided with a truck parked on the side of National Highway 48 in Haveri district.
Out of the 17 passengers in the van, 11 died instantly, while two succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, according to a senior police official.
Among the four injured, two are in the ICU, the official added.
The deceased have been moved to the mortuary, and the injured are receiving treatment at Haveri Government Hospital.
