Bhopal: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia proclaimed on Sunday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading in Madhya Pradesh is a testament to how Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Ladli Bahna scheme for the women of the state has emerged as a ‘game changer’ in the polls.
Scindia credited the incumbent Chief Minister Shivraj for the substantial lead in the polls, expressing gratitude to the people of the state. He attributed the success to the BJP’s “double engine government,” Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party president J.P. Nadda, and the effective implementation of welfare schemes, particularly highlighting the Ladli Bahna scheme.
“This is the magic of BJP’s double-engine government — PM Modi’s leadership, the resolve of Amit Shah and J.P. Nadda, the hard work put in by each BJP worker, and CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s dedication towards the public,” remarked Scindia.
Taking a swipe at the Congress, Scindia mentioned that while his party was quietly doing the work, the Congress was busy preparing Ladoos and congratulatory posters.
“As Congress was preparing Ladoos and congratulatory posters were put up, we were doing our work quietly,” he added.
Scindia, who switched from the Congress to the BJP in 2020, also took a dig at Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, stating that he welcomes all his ‘bad wishes.’
The BJP, led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, heavily relied on schemes for women, such as the ‘Ladli Bahna Yojana,’ during the election campaign. The Congress, however, described it as an election sop, implemented months before the assembly polls. The BJP leaders maintained that it is in line with the party’s commitment to empowering women.
As the BJP heads towards a landslide victory in Madhya Pradesh, with leaders already celebrating at the party headquarters, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his family flashed victory signs from the balcony of their official residence.
