Landslides disrupt train services on Kalka-Shimla UNSCO heritage line

Shimla, Aug 15 (UNI) The train services on narrow gauge Kalka-Shimla UNSCO heritage line between Jatough and Summerhill railway stations were disrupted on Monday due to a landslide.

Superintendent of police for Shimla Sanjay Gandhi said that due to heavy rains, Kalka-Shimla railway track at 92/6 – 92/7 km between Jutogh and Summerhill railway stations is washed away. resulting in cancellation of train services between Kandaghat and Shimla.

MP from Shimla Suresh Kashyap visited the railway track.

This is second time that the UNSCO heritage train services were disrupted for the traffic. Earlier, on July 9 and 10, the line was closed down near Kummarhati.
