The dispute over the BJP district presidents in the state is not getting resolved. In view of the dispute over the names in the districts, now the list is likely to be approved only with the intervention of the BJP high command.
After the dispute over the names, BJP state president VD Sharma and organization general secretary Hitanand Sharma left for Delhi on Tuesday with the list. It is being told that due to lack of consensus over the names in more than a dozen districts, now the strategists will meet in Delhi. State organization election supervisor Saroj Pandey, state in-charge Dr. Mahendra Singh, national co-organization general secretary Shivprakash will also be present in the meeting. The list will be finalized after consultation with these top officials. Consensus has not been reached on the names in some other districts including Indore, Sagar, Dhar, Rewa, Gwalior, Vidisha, Jabalpur, Damoh, Shivpuri, Niwari, Singrauli, which are among the big districts of the state.
Interference of powerful leaders in the districts
There is interference of powerful leaders in these districts and they are adamant on making their supporters the district president. In such a situation, it is not easy for the organization to reach any conclusion. Now the names of the district presidents are expected to be approved in Delhi. Earlier it was believed that this list would be released three days in advance, but even after a round of consultations and meetings for the last one week, the state BJP organization has not been able to finalize the list. Two days ago, a long meeting was held between Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, State President VD Sharma and Organization General Secretary Hitanand Sharma regarding the list at the Chief Minister’s residence, in this meeting also no consensus could be reached on the list. Meanwhile, former Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra and Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh have also reached Delhi. Both these leaders are in the race for BJP state president. In such a situation, the importance of their Delhi visit has increased. They will meet the national office bearers of BJP in Delhi.
