Bhopal: On the final Monday of the auspicious month of Sawan, the grand procession of Lord Mahakaleshwar will unfold with full protocol and splendor. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will be a part of this sacred journey. This year’s Sawan has seen an extraordinary charm in the procession of Lord Mahakaleshwar, with each event standing out in its own unique way. The highlight of this final procession will be the magnificent display by the CRPF and Army bands. This day also coincides with the significant Hindu festival of Raksha Bandhan. Additionally, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, will join in the divine visit to Lord Mahakaleshwar on this special Monday.
Since Dr. Mohan Yadav assumed the role of Chief Minister, the grandeur of Lord Mahakaleshwar’s procession has reached new heights. The procession now begins with a magnificent performance by the grand police band, followed by a world record-breaking Damru ensemble—a truly unique initiative.
To further enhance the splendor of the procession, tribal dance groups from various regions of the state have been included for the first time through the Tribal Folk Art and Language Development Academy of Madhya Pradesh Sanskriti Parishad. This addition has not only elevated the grandeur of the Sawan processions but also significantly increased their appeal. The performances captivated the audience. Additionally, for the first time, mobile chariots were introduced, allowing devotees to smoothly view Lord Mahakal through large screens, adding another layer of devotion and accessibility to the event.
Police band performed for the first time
In a special initiative by CM Dr. Yadav, the second procession of Lord Mahakaleshwar featured a remarkable performance by 350 police personnel, who played melodious tunes of Shiva Bhajans such as “Namah Shivaya Om Namah Shivaya,” “Har-Har Shambhu Deva Mahadeva,” “Mere Ghar Ram Aaye Hai,” “Deva Ho Deva Ganapati Deva,” “Om Jai Shiv Omkara,” and “Satyam Shivam Sundaram” through the Police Band. The Police Band also delivered a mesmerizing performance during the pooja at Ramghat, infusing the entire atmosphere with energy and devotion, and captivating the hearts of all the devotees present.
Mass Damru playing becomes world record
The third Monday of Shravan became historic for Ujjain. As per the wish of the Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, 1500 Damru players created a world record by playing Damru simultaneously on the Shaktipath of Mahakal Lok. Devotees of Baba Mahakal participated in the ride with gaiety and enthusiasm and welcomed the Damru players. Damru, the favourite musical instrument of Lord Shiva, enthralled the devotees with a rhythmic and captivating performance by the Damru players. Lord Shiva was praised with the auspicious sound of Damru playing in the ride of Lord Mahakaleshwar.
