New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) The Lok Sabha on Thursday was adjourned twice after a massive face-off between the ruling and opposition members over Adani and Soros issues.
After the smooth conduct of the Question Hour, Presiding Officer Jagdambika Pal called for the papers to be laid on the table.
Congress member S. Jothimani raised the farmers issue and also raised the Adani issue, to which Jagdambika Pal said that the name be deleted as the member cannot name a person who is not a part of the House. To this the Congress members started creating ruckus.
Congress member KC Venugopal raised an issue that was permitted by the presiding officer.
He said that yesterday during the Zero Hour, Union Minister Piyush Goyal made some allegations against the Congress party and the leaders of the party, but the comments were allowed to remain, but today when Jothimani took the name of Adani, it was removed from the proceedings.
After this the Congress members came to the Well of the House making noise. Members of DMK and the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) also stood at their places in protest.
The chair then called for BJP’s Nishikant Dubey to raise his issue.
During his submission, Dubey raised the alleged Congress-Soros link and asked what relation its leaders have with George Soros.
On this the Congress members became more agitated and started making noise in the House. After this, Jagdambika Pal adjourned the proceedings of the House till 1 pm.
When the House met at 1 pm, the situation remained the same, and Presiding Officer Sandhya Ray adjourned the House till 2 pm.
