Luxury tent city under construction for GIS

Bhopal: A new luxury tent city comprising 108 tents is currently being constructed in Bhopal to accommodate foreign guests attending the Global Investors Summit (GIS). This tent city will feature amenities comparable to five-star hotels, including air conditioning, double beds, and landscaped gardens for a nature-inspired experience.

Construction began on February 11 and is set to be completed by February 20, with a firm from Rajasthan leading the project. Chakravarti Singh from the company reported that over 150 artisans and laborers are involved in creating the tent city, focusing on graphics, landscaping, and tent assembly. Artists from Jaipur, Mumbai, and Bhopal are contributing to the project, which is already halfway finished.

Originally, there were plans to establish two tent cities along the banks of Kaliyasot and Kerwa dam to offer scenic views. However, the final decision was made to build the tent city at Kaliyasot ground, near Pt Khushi Lal Sharma Ayurveda College. The construction is being overseen by the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation.

Each tent will provide luxurious accommodations

Each tent will provide luxurious accommodations, complete with security measures and a 24-hour medical team. The tent city is designed exclusively for foreign guests, allowing them to enjoy a natural setting during their stay. Transportation will be arranged to shuttle guests between the tent city and the summit venue.

The tent city’s location near natural surroundings will offer delegates a chance to experience Bhopal’s ecological diversity. Security protocols have been enhanced at all accommodation venues with round-the-clock surveillance and emergency response systems in place.

Meanwhile, the hotels selected for delegate accommodation are being upgraded to meet all standards. Special attention is being paid to amenities, security arrangements, and cultural experiences. The Tourism Development Corporation has established a dedicated coordination cell to manage bookings and ensure smooth operations during the summit period.

The GIS is expected to attract around 32,000 attendees from India and abroad, including prominent industrialists such as Ambani, Adani, Tata, Birla, and Mahindra. Special arrangements have been made for these guests, including hotel bookings ranging from 2 to 5-star accommodations, with some rooms priced up to Rs 1 lakh. PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the summit.
