Madhya Pradesh Police on high alert due to continuous rains

  • Advisory issued for safety of life and property due to heavy rains

In view of the continuous rains in Madhya Pradesh, the Police Headquarters has instructed all the Superintendents of Police to be fully alert. Along with this, the police have appealed to the general public to follow the advisory seriously for the safety of their lives and property. According to the guidelines issued by the Police Headquarters, patrolling should be increased at the possible places of water logging, bridges, culverts, natural springs and picnic spots and no person should be allowed to do any risky adventure. Wherever there is water flow on bridges, culverts, bridges, ensure complete stoppage of movement there. In view of the heavy rains in the state, there is a special high alert in Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Sheopur, Ashoknagar, Mandla, Dindori, Singrauli. Many routes in these districts have been closed due to heavy rains.

Instructions to immediately inform police about floods

Instructions have been given to alert the people of the affected villages 24 hours in advance about the water released from the dams in the district through the village Kotwar, members of Nagar/Gram Raksha Samiti. The village Kotwar has been instructed to keep an eye on such drains, rivers, bridges and culverts which get flooded during the rains and to immediately inform the regional police stations/police posts in case of floods. Instructions have also been given to continuously receive information about the condition of the railway routes of the state and to take necessary action if the railway route is blocked due to heavy rains and floods.

Monitoring room working 24 hours

District level police flood control/monitoring room has been established in all the districts of the state, which is working 24 hours during disasters. Senior police officers have been appointed as in-charge officers (nodal officers) for the flood control room. The list of district police force, trained personnel are ready for rescue work during floods.
