Maha: Senior inspector in Navi Mumbai arrested in bribery case

Mumbai, Oct 9 (UNI) A senior police inspector in neighbouring Navi Mumbai was arrested by Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3.5 lakh from a builder, an official said here on Wednesday.

According to ACB, senior inspector Satish Kadam, in-charge of NRI Coastal police station in Navi Mumbai, had demanded money in exchange for helping the builder’s father in a criminal case.

He was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount.

He was today produced in a local court, which remanded him to police custody, sources added.
