- Special police band of 350 jawans gave a colourful presentation in Baba Mahakal’s procession
- On the second Monday of Shravan, Baba Mahakal went on a city tour in the form of Chandramouliswara in a palanquin and in the form of Manmohan on Gajraj

Bhopal/Ujjain: In the sequence of enthusiasm and attraction of the month of Shravan, a sea of devotion and enthusiasm swelled in Mahakal’s procession that took place on the second Monday in Ujjain. The city of Mahakal resounded with the devotional melodies played by the special band of Madhya Pradesh Police during the procession. For the first time, 350 jawans of the Police Brass Band gave special performances during the worship of Baba Mahakal’s procession from the procession route to the holy Ram Ghat on the banks of Shipra. During this, devotees danced to one religious tune after another. A group of tribal artists from various tribal districts of the state also participated in Baba Mahakal’s procession. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav congratulated on this unforgettable performance given by the Police Band.
God went on a tour to know the well-being of his subjects
It is worth mentioning that like the previous years, this year also Lord Mahakal’s processions are being taken out in the month of Shravan-Bhadu. In the same sequence, on the second Monday of Shravan, Lord Mahakaleshwar went on a city tour to give darshan to his devotees in the form of Chandramouliswara in a palanquin and in the form of Manmohan on an elephant to know the well-being of his subjects. Mahakal’s procession started from Mahakal temple at 4 pm and reached back to Mahakal temple via Kot Mohalla Chauraha, Gudri Chauraha, Bakshi Bazaar, Kaharwadi, Harsiddhi Pal, Ramanujkot, Gangaur Darwaza, Kartik Chowk Satyanarayan temple, Dhaba road, Kamari Marg Chauraha, Tanki Chowk, Chhatri Chowk, Gopal temple, Patni Bazaar, Gudri Chauraha and Kot Mohalla Chauraha. There was tight police security on the procession route.
Guard of honour given to Lord Chandramouliswara
As soon as Lord Chandramouliswara reached the main gate of Mahakaleshwar temple riding on the palanquin, the jawans of armed police force saluted Chandramouliswara riding on the palanquin (guard of honour). Devotees standing at various places on the procession route showered flowers on the king of Ujjain city, Lord Mahakaleshwar, with the slogan of Jai Mahakal.
Presentation of these sweet bhajans and patriotic songs
The soldiers included in the special band of Madhya Pradesh Police gave melodious presentations of religious and patriotic songs. During the procession, the police band enthralled the audience with patriotic tunes like Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja, Sare Jahan Se Achcha, Takhat Watan Ki Hum Se Hai, Jahan Daal Daal Par, Bharat Ke Jawan, Astronaut, Gangotri, Ashoka, Arjuna, General Tappy, Vijay Bharat, Sitare Hind, General Nirmal, Hanste Lusai, which were played during the quick march. After this, a special presentation was also given at Ram Ghat during the worship on the banks of Shipra. At the ghat, the police band presented religious bhajans like Har Har Shambhu, Satyam-Shivam-Sundaram, Mere Ghar Ram Aaye Hain, Deva O Deva, Om Jai Shiva Omkara, Namah Shivay Om Namah Shivay.
Chief Minister congratulates Police Band
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has congratulated and wished the Police Department for giving a wonderful performance in Baba Mahakal’s Sawari. He said that after completing the training, the jawans of the Police Department are going to give a performance in the celebrations to be held in all the districts on the occasion of Independence Day this year. In such a situation, this is the last part of their training in the form of a performance in Baba Mahakal’s Sawari, in which they have introduced their art and skill in a public function. With this final training, a new history has been created in Madhya Pradesh. 350 police personnel have joined Baba Mahakal’s Sawari with musical instruments. This is a long process, in which we had sent 20 master trainers to Hyderabad. Jawans were called from different police units and trained. Earlier also, jawans have given a performance in Bhopal and after this final training, they will leave for their districts.
It is worth noting that Chief Minister Dr. Mohan, while emphasizing the importance of the Police Band, had given instructions to establish a Police Band in every district and to train the interested policemen and encourage them to join the band. On his instructions, police personnel in the police units of the state were given intensive training in band playing and various musical instruments. In view of the establishment of police bands in every district, 340 jawans of 1st Battalion Visbal, Indore, 6th Battalion Visbal Jabalpur and 7th Battalion Visbal Bhopal were given training.
