Prayagraj, Feb 10 (UNI) Bollywood actress and newly appointed Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara Mamta Kalkarni has resigned from her post.
In a video Mamta said, “I, Mahamandaleshwar MI Mamta Nand Giri is resigning from my post. I am resigning from the post of Mahamandaleshwar because I am hurt by the problems arising in Kinnar Akhara and others regarding her being declared Mahamandaleshwar.”
She said that she had become a Sadhvi almost 25 years ago. She took initiation only after leaving films. She was continuously working to propagate Sanatan Dharma. “I am a Sadhvi and will remain a Sadhvi,” she said.
In her video, Mamta has held some Shankaracharyas and Himangi Sakhi, head of Ardhanarishwar Dham, mainly responsible for her resignation. She said that she was given the post of Mahamandaleshwar as a prasad of her 25 years of penance but some people are not able to digest it.
In Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, Kinnar Akhara gave her the title of Mahamandleshwar by initiating her into Sanyas on January 24. In a public ceremony, she was anointed and the ceremony of presenting her a chadar was performed. She has also raised questions on the knowledge of those who are targeting her.
She said that she has done Sadhana for 25 years under the guidance of her Guru Chaitanya Gagan Giri Maharaj. She said that she does not need to go to any Kailash, Mansarovar or Himalaya.
Regarding Himangi Sakhi, she said that she has the knowledge of Brahma Vidya. “I do not want to say anything about her, that’s all. I respect my Acharya Mahamandleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi a lot,” she said.
Akhada Parishad, the largest organisation of saints and sages, defended Mamta Kulkarni and Kinnar Akhara.
