Mangal Bhumi launches Ganga purity campaign at Maha Kumbh

Prayagraj, Feb 23 (UNI) As more than 60 crore devotees took a holy dip at the Sangam, Mangal Bhumi Foundation has launched a special campaign to promote water conservation and the purity of the Ganga.

Over 1 lakh devotees in the Kumbh area have been directly sensitised about water conservation through this initiative. Volunteers of Mangal Bhumi Foundation spread awareness through pamphlet distribution, street plays, plastic bottle collection, Prabhat Pheri, and stage programmes in Maha Kumbh Nagar, inspiring people to contribute to environmental preservation.

Foundation President Rambabu Tiwari highlighted the significance of the ‘Ek Thali-Thela Abhiyan’, an initiative under the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) environmental protection drive, which played a crucial role in making Green Maha Kumbh a success.

Similarly, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas reinforced the message of environmental protection through its two-day Green Maha kumbh event.

A team of 30 interns from Mangal Bhumi Foundation actively documents environmental activities across different regions while contributing to Green Maha Kumbh through awareness campaigns, cleanliness drives, and research-based travel.

Foundation intern Yashi Rajput emphasised the need for collective action. “To preserve the Ganga’s purity and uninterrupted flow, we must also focus on conserving its tributaries. Every institution should take a pledge to keep their regional rivers clean,” he said.
