Bhopal: The Model Code of Conduct for Assembly Elections 2023 has become effective in Madhya Pradesh from October 9. During the assembly elections, 24-hour continuous monitoring/recording of paid news related matters, news published in national and state level print media and broadcast in electronic media channels is being done. The State Level Media Monitoring Cell is working under the guidance of State Nodal Officer, Commissioner Public Relations Shri Manish Singh. Additional Director Dr. HL Choudhary has been made the chief nodal officer for all other works including news monitoring and paid news matters.
State Level Media Monitoring Cell (State Level MCMC Cell) is functioning in the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nirvachan Sadan, Arera Hills, Bhopal. In this cell, a team of officers and employees of the Public Relations Department is continuously monitoring the news of print and electronic media in three shifts. This work is being done continuously in three shifts every day, from 6 am to 2 pm, from 2 pm to 10 pm and from 10 pm to 6 am the next day.
