Bhopal: For the first time on Friday morning, the Metro train ran at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour on the Priority Corridor of the Metro. However, just a day before this, the Metro was run at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour on this priority corridor.
Managing Director of Metro, Sibi Chakraborty said that according to the design of the Metro, the fixed speed of the Metro is 90 kilometers per hour. But as there is a metro station at a distance of every two kilometers, the metro will be able to run at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour only. The trial runs of the metro that took place prior to 16 May were at a speed of 10 to 15 KMPH. On 16 May trial run was held at speed of 60KMPH and on 17 May at 80 60KMPH.This is the first time that the metro was run at a speed of 80 kilometers. The Managing Director has congratulated the entire team for this.
The trial run that took place on Friday was a new experience for the city residents. For the first time, the city residents saw the metro moving so fast on the track. Within a moment the metro train from Subhash Nagar had reached Rani Kamlapati. The people were amazed to see this.
Trial runs will continue further
Trial runs will continue on the 6.22 km long priority corridor. According to Bhopal Metro Corporation, the metro stations of Subhash Nagar, Kendriya Vidyalaya, RK MP and MP Nagar in front of DB Mall are almost 90 percent completed. 40 to 30 percent work is left at DRM office, Alkapuri and AIIMS stations. Commercial run on the priority corridor will start as soon as the work of the station is completed.

The trial run has been done on the 6.22 km long priority corridor of the Metro train in Bhopal, while its commercial run will also start in the next few months.
After this, when you enter the station to travel in the metro train, you will see the same picture as inside an airport. There will also be a food plaza and some shops inside, from where you will be able to buy food and other essential items. For this, the Metro Rail Corporation has also started preparations. Plans are being prepared through experts. Similar plans will also be made for Indore metro stations. A meeting has been held simultaneously for Bhopal-Indore.
MD discusses with experts
The priority corridor of the metro is between Subhash Nagar and AIIMS. Five stations – Subhash Nagar, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Opposite DB and MP Nagar are 90% complete, while 60 to 70% work is complete at DRM Chauraha, AIIMS and Alkapuri. Meanwhile, plans are also being prepared to generate revenue from these stations. MD CB Chakraborty has also held a meeting with experts. Plans have also been sought from them. Metro Corporation officials say that the stations are built in a very large area. In such a situation, there is space for food plaza, ATMs of banks as well as shops.
So revenue will be generated from these as well. Plans will be prepared in the next 2 months.
