Mohammedan Sporting Club inducted into ISL

Kolkata, Aug 24 (UNI) Kolkata’s Mohammedan Sporting Club has been inducted into India’s top-tier football tournament Indian Super League’s 11th edition from the seasons 2024-25, the ISL management announced on Saturday.

” Starting from the 2024-25 season, Mohammedan SC, one of the oldest active football clubs in the nation will compete in the top tier of Indian football, bringing the total number of clubs in the ISL to 13,’ an ISL statement confirms.

This promotion follows their triumphant 2023-24 I-League title-winning campaign, making them the second club after Punjab FC to earn promotion to the ISL.

With the inclusion of the black and white brigade, which has many silver wars in its club tents at the Maidan, altogether three outfits from this city will be seen in action in the coming season.

The news was celebrated hugely in the club tents as many fans arrived at the Maidan tent and greeted each other after their favourite club got a berth in the country’s top-tier football tournament.
