Bhopal: Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) courses of NITTTR Bhopal are gaining immense popularity on the Swayam portal. MOOCs courses have been created by NITTTR Bhopal in three categories in self-learning mode which includes a comprehensive training policy for technical teachers by AICTE under “National Initiative for Training of Technical. Teachers, teacher training, courses under the National Resource Centre. These courses have been designed by NITTTR faculty. AICTE had made these courses compulsory for the promotion of teachers in polytechnic and engineering colleges by making a comprehensive training policy for technical teachers. Director of NITTTR Bhopal, Prof. C.C. Tripathi said that this was an important initiative and was helpful in achieving the three main principles of education policy, access, equity and quality. Technical education contributes a major share to the overall education system and plays a vital role in the social and economic development of the nation.
In modern times, in the ever-changing technological scenario and competitiveness, the role of technical education in economic development has become very important. In such a scenario the role of technical teachers and their upgradation is very important. The role of teacher is most important in bringing change in the knowledge-based society.
NITTTR Bhopal has so far created around 18 MOOCs courses through which around 2 lakh teachers have benefited.
NITTTR Bhopal has started 4 new advanced MOOCs courses for senior teachers on SWAYAM platform from the month of January, which include Research, Innovation and Social Relevance, Intellectual Property Rights, Developing Academic Management and Leadership, Accreditation System and Ranking Framework, whose coordinators are Prof. R. K Dixit, Prof PK Purohit, Prof Ashish Deshpande and Prof Sanjay Aggarwal. The video lectures of all these courses have been recorded in NITTTR’s studio.
