- National programme held in Indore on World AIDS Day

National celebration of World AIDS Day was held in Indore on Sunday in the presence of Union Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Union Minister Nadda said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a united fight is being fought against AIDS in India. Unexpected success is also being achieved in this. Rapid efforts are being made with determination to control HIV/AIDS in the country. The rights of HIV/AIDS affected people are being protected. They are being connected to the mainstream of society. Rapid efforts have been started by the Central Government for HIV/AIDS control since 2017.
Nadda said that everyone’s cooperation is necessary to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. HIV affected people should get human rights along with fundamental rights. The Union Minister called upon all sections of the society to re-commit to achieve the goal in this direction with new energy and new vigor.
Nadda said that HIV and AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act-2017 was implemented. This Act is helping in preventing and controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS. This Act has strengthened the legal and human rights of persons infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. He praised Madhya Pradesh for the expansion of health services and medical education and said that this state is leading in this field in the country. New medical colleges have been opened rapidly in Madhya Pradesh.
MP tops in implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana
Nadda said that Madhya Pradesh is at the forefront in the country in the expansion of medical education and health facilities and is moving forward at the fastest pace. He also praised Madhya Pradesh for this. He said that new medical colleges have been opened rapidly in Madhya Pradesh, new medical colleges will be opened in future as well. AIIMS has also been established in Bhopal. The number of seats in medical colleges has been increased. Madhya Pradesh is also at the top in the country in the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
Will achieve global target by 2028: CM
CM Dr. Yadav expressed gratitude to Union Minister Nadda for organizing this program in Indore on the occasion of World AIDS Day. He said that this event will help in solving the challenges and achieving the global goal of ending HIV/AIDS by 2030 by bringing together communities, youth, beneficiaries and various organizations. Our effort will be to achieve the global goal by 2028 by working in accordance with the UN theme, “Take the Rights Path”. Such programs will bring awareness in the society. It will help in fighting the war against HIV/AIDS. Awareness will be brought in the war against HIV/AIDS by bringing the society together.
Dr. Yadav expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and the Central Government for simplifying the process of opening medical colleges. He said that the simplified system has given new momentum to the work of opening medical colleges in the state. Now new medical colleges are being established rapidly in the state.
At the beginning of the program, Secretary of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Punya Salila Srivastava gave the welcome speech. Principal Secretary Public Health and Family Welfare Sandeep Yadav expressed gratitude.
Union Minister and CM purchased handmade items
Union Minister Nadda and CM also visited Hunar Haat set up to bring people affected by HIV/AIDS into the mainstream during the event. A variety of handmade items made by the beneficiaries were displayed in it. Nadda and Dr. Yadav discussed with the beneficiaries and saw and appreciated the handicrafts produced by them. They also purchased handmade items made by the beneficiaries. An innovative exhibition was also organized at the venue, which showcased the achievements made by NACO through digital eco system, community engagement, campaign-based approach. NACO’s theme song was released on this occasion.
Deputy Chief Ministers Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Deora, MP Vishnudutt Sharma, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, Additional Secretary and Director General NACO Ms. Hekali Zhimomi were specially present in the program.
