Bhopal Municipal Corporation has received a reward of 9.94 crores for improving air quality index.
Bhopal has received incentives under the Million Plus City category. This amount was given by the 15th Finance Commission. Municipal Corporation Mayor Malti Rai said that in the last few months, planned work has been done in the capital to improve air quality. This includes cleaning of roads with mechanical road sweeping vehicles, efforts to control and reduce dust with the use of water fogger, plantation of trees, use of CNG vehicles in door-to-door garbage collection. Along with this, arrangements like CND waste processing plant, animal carcass plant were also operated.
Disposal of garbage through scientific treatment in Bhanpur Khanti is also included. Corporation officials say that due to these reasons, there has been improvement in the air index quality.
