National School Games: Jammu set to host over 4K athletes in four disciplines

Jammu, Nov 1 (UNI) More than 4000 athletes from all over the country are all set to participate in the four-day National School Games hosted by the Jammu and Kashmir Department of Youth Services and Sports.

The 68th National School Games (NSG) will witness athletes participating in four disciplines including Judo, Fencing, Wushu, and Football to be organised by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports here at different venues commencing on November 7 and will conclude on December 10.

The Director General of Youth Services and Sports, Rajinder Singh Tara, while chairing a meeting here, directed them to make these sporting extravaganzas memorable.

He said working with passion, commitment, dedication, and responsibility always helps achieve the goals or are the ‘mantras’ for success.

“The Government is committed to promoting sports in every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir. That’s why we are going to host historic four national sporting events in Jammu, which is unquestionably a step forward towards making Jammu and Kashmir a sporting hub,” said the Director General while addressing the conveners.

He advised them to set an example of coordination and cooperation in conducting the event in a most befitting manner.

While advising the technical experts to show fairness and firmness in announcing results, Tara said the delay in results always leads to suspicion.

Earlier, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Vaid Prakash while welcoming the Director General Sports, briefed him about the different committees framed for the successful conduct of the event.
