Srinagar, Oct 11 (UNI) National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Friday said that the party will submit a letter of support to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and seek a date for swearing in ceremony for the new government.
“ Lt Gov (sahib) is coming… and we will meet with a letter of support and seek time from him for swearing in ceremony,” Abdullah told reporters in Srinagar.
The development came hours after the Congress party extended support to the NC. The party also handed over the letter of support to NC.
Omar Abdullah was unanimously elected as the leader of the Legislature Party Leader (LPL) on Thursday.
The NC swept the Assembly polls in J&K and emerged as the single largest party with 42 seats. The party has a comfortable majority in the 95-member House. Its alliance partners Congress and CPI(M) won six seats and one seat respectively. Four Independents have already supported the NC.
