Nepal FM Deuba describes SAU as a light beam of education

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Professor KK Agarwal, President of the South Asian University established by SAARC countries, paid a courtesy visit to Nepal’s Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba at the Sheraton Hotel in New Delhi here on Thursday.

During this, Professor KK Agarwal informed the Foreign Minister about the courses being conducted at the university as well as other activities.

He said that this is the first and only university in South Asia that is being run jointly by all the member countries of SAARC, including India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Professor Agarwal said that the professors teaching at the university and the students studying there are from SAARC member countries, so the atmosphere of the campus is coloured with the colours of unity and diversity.

Nepal’s Foreign Minister, Arju Rana Deuba, congratulated SAU Vice Chancellor Professor KK Agarwal and praised the concept of knowledge without borders of this international university, which is becoming a bridge to promote relations between the member countries.

The Foreign Minister described the South Asian University as a light beam of education for the SAARC countries. Foreign Minister Deuba said that she will soon come to New Delhi again to visit the university.

Professor Agarwal told the Foreign Minister that such courses are being started in the Institute of South Asian Studies, which is focused on solving the social, economic, and geographical problems of the SAARC countries.

Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba said that Nepal will seriously consider any help that will be provided to enhance the dignity of the university and in the interest of the students studying here.

Professor KK Agrawal presented traditional shawls, manimalas, and mementos containing the cultural richness of South India and North India to Nepal’s Foreign Minister, Arzoo Rana Deuba, who came to India for the first time after becoming the Foreign Minister.
