Nepalese Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba to be on official visit to New Delhi from today

Kathmandu, Aug 18 (UNI) Nepalese Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, who will be on a five-day official visit to India from today, is also set to visit a New Delhi hospital for a routine health check-up, a media report said.

Her visit to New Delhi, which was okayed by the Nepalese cabinet on Friday, has been delayed due to health reasons rather than diplomatic concerns, MyRepublica reported.

Foreign Minister Rana had surgery for hyperparathyroidism at Max Hospital, New Delhi, in March 2024, and is to go for a routine health check-up.

During this visit, the Indian government extended an official invitation to her.

A source close to Rana said, “Her visit was initially planned for health reasons. But the Indian side invited her upon learning of this.”

Given the health-focused nature of her visit, few high-level meetings are expected. However, Rana is scheduled to meet with Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, following an invitation from him, the report said.
