New Ayurvedic Colleges to Open in Narmadapuram, Balaghat, Sagar, Shujalpur and Dindori: CM Dr. Yadav

  • Chief Minister holds review of the AYUSH Department

Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that efforts are underway to establish a Yoga Institute in Khajuraho through ongoing coordination with the Central Government. He also revealed plans to open new Ayurvedic colleges in Narmadapuram, Balaghat, Sagar, Shujalpur, and Dindori. Dr. Yadav emphasized the need for an action plan to encourage private sector involvement in setting up these colleges, particularly prioritizing their establishment in tribal-dominated areas. He made these remarks during a review meeting of the AYUSH Department at the Mantralaya, which was attended by AYUSH Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, and senior departmental officers.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the significance of Ayurveda has increased immensely after Covid. Number of para medical courses should be increased in the department. There are more opportunities for treatment and employment in it. CM Dr. Yadav said that a proposal has been sent to the Central Government to start All India Ayurveda Institute in Ujjain.

It was told in the meeting that 332 paramedical employees have been appointed in the department. Appointment orders of 14 Unani Medical Officers and 36 Homeopathy Medical Officers have been issued. The process of filling the posts of 543 Ayurveda Medical Officers selected through the Public Service Commission is underway. 533 contractual CAMOs have been posted in Ayushman Arogya Mandir AYUSH. Under AYUSH education, postgraduate courses have been started in two new subjects of Ayurveda (Gynaecology Obstetrics – Ujjain and Bhopal College and Panchkarma – Ujjain College) in the session 2023-24. Construction works worth Rs 1999.86 lakh were approved for the strengthening of Pt. Khushilal Sharma Government Ayurveda College, Bhopal of the state. A 180-bed girls hostel is being run in the Government Autonomous Unani College, Bhopal. Last year, 1 crore 37 lakh patients were treated in OPD/IPD and 2500 patients underwent surgery. 9 thousand 600 sessions were organised in Yoga Wellness Centres.
