- Agreement for Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project signed
Jaipur: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has said that the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project will make both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan “Sujlam-Sufalam”. The Memorandum of Agreement signed here today between Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and the Central Government is not an ordinary MoU, it will be remembered for many decades to come. For this, the Government of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and the people deserve congratulations. He expressed hope that the work on the project will continue without stopping and the project will be completed before time.
PM Modi was addressing the tripartite contract program of Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project and the completion of one year of the tenure of the Rajasthan Government in Jaipur on Tuesday. Union Water Power Minister Shri C.R. Patil and MP CM Dr. Mohan Yadav were specially present. In the presence of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the Memorandum of Agreement of the project was signed on behalf of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and the Central Government.
Project will make MP and Rajasthan Sujlam-Sufalam: PM
Modi said that under the leadership of Jal Shakti Minister Shri C.R. Patil, a huge campaign of water conservation “Rain Water Harvesting” is being run in the country with public participation. Through this, every drop of rain water will be brought into the ground and the thirst of Mother Earth will be quenched. It is our duty to give “Sujlam Sufalam” to Mother Earth to the coming generation.
Earlier, PM Modi poured water from the Kalash containing Chambal river water into a big Kalash. After this, he poured water from the Kalash containing Kalisindh river water given by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and water from the Kalash containing Parvati river water given by Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma into the same big Kalash.
Modi said that former Prime Minister Late. Atal Bihari Vajpayee had a vision of linking rivers and a special committee was also formed for it. The plan to link rivers was made but the previous governments kept it unnecessarily entangled. But our government works on the policy of dialogue, not conflict, but cooperation. It is the result of this that today the contract for the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project has been signed. Under the project, Chambal and its tributary rivers Parvati, Kalisindh and Chambal will be linked. This will open new doors of development in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
PM Modi said that by linking rivers, it is possible to solve both the problems of flood and drought. We understand the importance of water. Water is a paras. Link project will provide sufficient water to both the states for irrigation and drinking water.
