Bhopal: A new record of highest electricity demand in the history of Madhya Pradesh was made today on 18 December at 9.34 am when the peak demand of electricity reached 18695 MW. At the same time, the highest electricity supply in the history of the state was 3368.56 lakh units on 17 December. Thus, a record of both demand and supply of electricity was set in the state in a span of one day. The special thing was that the maximum electricity demand in the state was supplied 100 percent.
Electricity demand increasing daily in the month of December – In the month of December, the demand of electricity in the state is continuously reaching the highest level every day. On 17 December, the demand of electricity was recorded at 18611 MW, 18524 ??MW on 16 December and 18444 MW on 13 December.
When the demand for electricity in the state was recorded at 18695 MW, the maximum demand for electricity was recorded at 4998 MW in Madhya Pradesh East Zone Electricity Distribution Company (Jabalpur, Sagar and Rewa Divisions), 5898 MW in Central Zone Electricity Distribution Company (Bhopal and Gwalior Divisions) and 7403 MW in West Zone Electricity Distribution Company (Indore and Ujjain Divisions). 396 MW of electricity was supplied to Railways.
