Srinagar, Jan 6 (UNI) National Investigation Agency on Saturday attached a house of an accused during the probe of a 2022 case related to recovery of weapons in Srinagar, officials said.
The NIA officials who were assisted by J&K Police and the CRPF attached the house of Mushtaq Ahmad in Chanapora locality of Srinagar.
“The property was attached in connection with a case which was registered in NIA Jammu branch in connection with recovery of 15 pistols and ammunition in 2022,” officials said. ” The property was attached under Section 33 (1) of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), 1967, in pursuance of the Court order.” .
On May 23, 2022 J&K Police arrested two hybrid militants of Resistance Front, a shadow group of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Chanapora area of Srinagar and recovered 15 pistols from them.
The case was initially registered by the J&K police and was later taken over by the NIA to widen the investigations.
